Another Old Dream

The world was hot and dusty, the sky was a golden tone, it had been for ages, Blue was merely a memory.
Humans had been herded into camps to mine. My camp was actually the site of a dried up resevoir that is near a place in Idaho that my family owns.
It was midday and many were resting while the heat of the sun was at it's worst, when a shadow fell across the dug-out shantie that served as my family's home. My mom watched in fear as the figures entered, they were very tall and built as egyptian idols, the bodies of men with narrow panther like heads. They were a mottled gray in color and almost looked like stone.
One pointed to me and said something, the others grabbed me by the arms and heaved me out. My family continued watching in fear, frozen in place.
I didn't feel scared though, It was almost as if I had been expecting this...

I was cleaned up and given decent clothes, then found myself being presented as a gift to a high-ranking young female (possibly a princess) of their race. I was later blown off and all but forgotten. But the father took me up into his service. We grew very close and he was protective of me. Other servants kept urging me to make a move to lead humans into independence, but I didn't feel that I could, I knew in fact.

Eventually the others gave up and then something happened.... but... I can't remember what it was... but I was in the middle of it. I think the king-type person I was serving was trying to free humans because of my influence. But... I really can't remember much beyond that.
